Welcome to the Beaver Computational Thinking Competition (BEAVER) 2023!
Participants can access the Beaver Computational Thinking Competition (BEAVER) 2023 contest site on 21st June 2023 between 10.00 AM - 5.00 PM only.
The duration of the contest is 45 minutes. You can start your 45 minutes anytime within the 12 hours period. You will see a timer indicating how much time is remaining. If you finish in less than the allotted time you may click End, then Yes. But no extra mark is given for early completion. However, if you start less than 45 minutes before the end of the contest period, the contest will still end at 5.00 PM, and you have less than 45 minutes to do the contest. You can only do the contest once.
There are altogether 15 Tasks for each category. The Tasks are grouped under three levels of difficulty: A (Easy), B (Medium), and C (Hard). You will find the difficulty level of each Task in the overview before you click on it. The level of difficulty of a Task determines how it will be scored. The scoring rules are as follows:

Most Tasks have 4 possible answers. Click the answer that you think is correct. Click 'SAVE' if requested. A tick will appear beside the Task (left-hand column) when you move on to the next Task. Some Tasks require that you either supply an answer or carry out a function. You can use calculator, pen or paper, if needed.
Two language versions are available for each category:

Make sure you choose the right language version. You can only do the contest once, and if you choose the wrong version, you are not allowed to change later.
You may complete the problem in any order. You may return to a completed problem and change your answer at any time. If you do not wish to select an answer you may skip the problem. You may use the Erase button to delete an answer.

Tempoh masa menjawab adalah 45 minit. Anda boleh mula menjawab pada bila-bila masa dalam tempoh 12 jam tersebut. Anda akan melihat jam yang menunjukkan baki masa yang tinggal. Jika anda selesai menjawab kesemua tugasan kurang daripada tempoh 45 minit, anda boleh klik butang End, kemudian Yes. Tetapi, tiada markah tambahan diberikan jika anda selesai menjawab lebih awal. Walau bagaimanapun, sekiranya anda mula menjawab kurang daripada 45 minit sebelum tempoh pertandingan tamat, pertandingan ini akan tetap berakhir pada pukul 5.00 PM, dan anda mempunyai kurang daripada 45 minit untuk menjawab soalan. Anda hanya boleh menjawab sekali sahaja.
Terdapat 15 soalan kesemuanya untuk setiap kategori. Soalan-soalan dibahagikan kepada tiga tahap kesukaran, iaitu: A (Mudah), B (Sederhana) dan C (Sukar). Anda boleh mengetahui tahap kesukaran sebelum anda menjawab mana-mana soalan. Tahap kesukaran akan menentukan markah yang akan diperolehi. Sistem pemarkahan adalah seperti berikut:

Kebanyakan soalan mempunyai 4 pilihan jawapan. Klik pada jawapan yang betul. Klik Save jika diminta. Satu tanda akan terpapar sebelah nama soalan (ruangan sebelah kiri) apabila anda pergi ke soalan seterusnya. Klik Next untuk menjawab soalan seterusnya. Sesetengah soalan memerlukan anda untuk klik pada pilihan jawapan atau membuat tugasan tertentu. Anda juga boleh menggunakan kalkulator, pen atau kertas sekiranya diperlukan.
Terdapat dua versi bahasa untuk setiap kategori:

Pastikan anda memilih versi bahasa yang betul. Anda hanya boleh menjawab sekali, dan sekiranya anda tersilap memilih versi bahasa, anda tidak dibenarkan untuk menukar kepada versi yang lain.
Anda boleh menjawab mana-mana soalan tanpa mengikut turutan. Anda boleh kembali semula pada soalan yang telah dijawab untuk menukar jawapan. Jika anda tidak mahu menjawab mana-mana soalan, anda boleh teruskan menjawab soalan berikutnya. Anda boleh klik butang Erase untuk memadam jawapan.
